NEUROLOGIC EXAM
Symptoms range from minor performance issues to severe incoordination or inability to walk. Differentiating between lameness and neurologic problems can be challenging, as they may overlap. The most common causes include systemic diseases such as EPM (most common), equine herpes, West Nile Virus, or musculoskeletal problems in the neck and back that impact nerve function. Accurate diagnosis requires a comprehensive exam, imaging, and laboratory testing.
